At Look After Me - NZ's Homestay Network, we're getting into the spirit of Easter in a very special way. Meet 'Sharon' - a typical Kiwi girl trying to book somewhere for Easter.

Here's a song to get us all humming:

Kiwi’s Easter

[To the tune of Snoopy’s Christmas]

The summer was long, temperatures soared

It was coming up Easter holiday once more

The kiwi thought back to her days in the tent

And called on herself to do it again....

Recently, I was given an opportunity by Julia Charity to interview our work placement recruits over the course of the work placement programme. To begin, I had the chance to interview Sunil Bishnoi.

Today is Look After Me’s First Birthday and I’m like a kid in a lolly shop...

You’ll never guess what we got for our birthday?

A brand-spanking new, all-the-bells-and-whistles website!

I’m a firm believer in making something a bit special of your birthday, so for me, being in business one whole year was indeed a celebration and I had been looking forward to acknowledging the day. Like any kid on her birthday I leaped out of bed in excitement (really!), dashed to my laptop, and urged the wireless into life......

I love opening my email. No really – I do.

You’re probably wondering why would I say such an outlandish thing?

It’s because many of my emails are from our new hosts who send through their photographs for uploading on to their property profile. So just like a box of chocolates...

Our hosts love looking after people and they’re jolly good at it. I would even go so far as to say that our unique brand of kiwi hospitality is amongst the best in the world. While Look After Me has a core basis of expectations, we leave looking after our guests to the experts.

Recently we invited our hosts to share some of their ‘hosting tips’; some of the little things they do for their guests to make them feel special. Here's what they came up with....

For a website founder, there is nothing more exciting than the hum of new search engines cranking into life for the first time.

At 6.00 am on Thursday 21 July, 2011, we launched the Look After Me ‘concept’ when V1 of our website went live. Although the Rugby World Cup was not our main focus, we timed the launch of our website 50 days out from the Rugby World Cup.  Rugby World Cup Fever was in full flight with Tamati’s tour around the country in his various themed Roadshows, showcasing the Cup and inviting locals to participate with live filming on Breakfast TV.
